Specialist
Applications
We produce components for a diverse range of customers within the IGT, rail, marine, F1 and nuclear sectors.
The sector, the scale of the project and the product specification may vary. All our customers can expect to receive the same degree of service and expertise from our highly qualified teams.
Our teams make it their business to understand customer needs. To interpret and develop their brief. To appreciate the commercial and reputational implications of the challenges they seek to address. And to anticipate the statutory requirements they’re obliged to meet.
That’s why we’re looked upon as valued stakeholders. We’re invested in our customers’ growth. We care about protecting their brand.
Integrated Solutions
Our business model is designed to streamline production processes, giving us the capacity, capabilities and resilience of an independent business ‘ecosystem’.
As well as improving operational efficiency, our self-contained and fully co-ordinated business units provide a seamless and synchronised service to customers, quicker response times, optimum flexibility and greater scope for innovation.

DESIGN & ENGINEERING
Whether customers have a detailed specification or a simple outline brief, our team will work with them to develop the most effective solution.
We design the components and the requisite tooling, and project plan the entire production process using the the latest technologies and trusted design systems.
We forge and machine using a variety of materials including titanium, steel and aluminium as well as other specialist materials such as magnesium, bronze and nickel-based alloys.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Our evolution into one of the world’s leading forging manufacturers was shaped by our investment in research and development, as we explored smarter ways to maximise efficiency and configurability.
We work with our customers to develop innovative solutions in response to sometimes complex requirements. Solutions which can be customised to meet to evolving specifications.

TOOLING MANUFACTURE
Our tooling technicians produce & refurbish over 1,000 dies a year. Using the latest simulation software, we design and manufacture tooling in-house, reducing lead times and optimising efficiency. Our tooling facilities have extensive capability, operating over 10 CNC machining centres & a range of 3, 4 and 5 axis machines.
We manufacture, maintain and refurbish all tooling on-site in facilities located close to our three forges. This enables a more direct line of communication, streamlining production and ensuring quality control.

FORGING
Our extensive forging facilities enable us to produce some of the most complex and intricate precision-forged components in the world.
Three onsite forges work across a wide range of materials including aluminium, titanium and steel alloys as well as with other specialist materials. We excel at producing a variety of asymmetric and complex shapes while achieving the desired grain flow and mechanical properties to meet exacting customer specifications.
Our highly-skilled team of master forgers manage over 75 forging units from 150 tonnes up to 12,000 tonnes including hydraulic presses, screw presses and hammers.
We process all the core materials forged in-house and have extensive heat treatment facilities used to enhance strength and improve mechanical properties.

MACHINING
Our onsite machining facilities can work to tolerances of 10 microns
We have over 50 machining centres which can operate 24 hours a day on complex contours and features in single setups, enhancing delivery rates, adaptability and value for money.
Our machining specialists have extensive experience in milling and turning techniques using aluminium, titanium, steel and other metals. We carry out audits throughout the process, as well as rigorous checks at completion to ensure the highest levels of conformance and quality.

FINISHING
We offer a range of surface treatments and finishing processes, enabling us to deliver fully-machined and kitted components direct to our customer’s final stage assembly lines.
Services include etching, coating, painting and sub-assembly processes, such as bonding rubber seals and applying other fittings.
Our finishing facility is fully NADCAP approved for:
· Chemical cleaning; Solvent and Alkaline.
· Conversion/phosphate coatings.
· Penetrant flaw detection.
· Paint/dry film coating facilities.
· Chromic/sulphuric acid anodising (to AMS-A-8625 standard).
