We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in using various tools and equipment to fabricate precision parts. Responsibilities include set-up and operation of Heller 4 & 5 Axis CNC Machines for production. This would also include running a FASTEMS pallet system.
Scope and Responsibilities
To operate various Heller CNC machines in Machining Cell
Competently set and operate 4 and 5 Axis Heller CNC machines
Previous experience of Siemens, Fanuc or Mazatrol controls
Experience of FASTEMS system is highly desirable
Working to tight tolerances and in process measurements
Loading and unloading of CNC machine tools
Working to process with no deviation.
Quality control, working to customer specification.
Modification of tool offsets.
Tool management. Fixture changing.
Experience of programming desirable
Accountabilities
Safety – Compliance to policy (PPE etc), risk assessments, safe systems of work and housekeeping 5S
Quality – Ensure the quality of parts, understanding of ISO 9001 and quality principles, produce jigs and fixtures that improve productivity
Delivery – Knowledge of using 4 and 5 Axis machines, understanding of component drawings, share expertise and knowledge throughout the machining division
Cost – Improve cutting times, minimise scrap, reduce tooling costs and promote process improvements
People – Responsive and agile, creative and innovative, communication, involvement and engagement as well as team communications
Business – Active involvement and responsive to change, role model for the company’s Vision, Mission and Values, ambassador for Mettis Aerospace
Performance Measures
KPI’s / PI’s in line with accountabilities as agreed at PDR.
Experience and Qualifications
– CNC machine tools (Siemens, Fanuc or Mazatrol controls)
– Proficiency in basic maths for measurements and calculations
– Familiarity with materials handling procedures in a workshop or warehouse setting
– Ability to work with logic controllers for machine operation
– Capability to assemble components accurately according to specifications
